She kept her eye on the ball and displayed the focus of a champion, even at an early age. Of course, we’re talking about soccer. The problem was, Bailey had no passion for it. So she tried tennis – hated it. But she ultimately fell in love at 11, and Bailey and the game of golf have been inseparable ever since. The University of Georgia women’s golf star, who grew up in Norcross near Atlanta, found the perfect mentor early on, in Chan Reeves, Director of Golf Instruction at Atlanta Athletic Club. Reeves made the game fun for Bailey, and as her interest grew so too did her skills. By the time she was barely a teenager, she was knocking the ball around with the guys and realizing there were no limits to her talent or to the enjoyment she got from the game. Now into her sophomore season at Georgia, Bailey was kind enough to take time out of her busy golf and classroom schedule to visit with us. And she provided an enlightening perspective on what it takes to be a champion. Bailey Tardy Takes Georgia by Storm BYRANDYSCHULTZ,JUNIORGOLF
