A new vision for youth golf competition will take shape in 2020

Orlando, FL –  A new vision for youth golf competition will take shape in 2020…The Junior Tour, LLC, will offer three unique competitive series, including The Traditions Series; 6 and 9 hole stroke play competition for youth golfers ages 3-15 that are beginner, intermediate or even more advanced players that may just be getting into competitive play…The Family Series; this series will consist of two-person teams, one adult and one child, playing 9 holes in a scramble format…and The Prep Series; two-day, stroke play, 36 hole competitions for more advanced players ages 10-18, these will be Junior Golf Scoreboard and Global Junior Golf Rankings ranked events that will see potential AJGA points offered in the 2021 season.

The Junior Tour, LLC is a collaborative effort between The Little Linksters Golf Academy and ICE Golf Academy. The company was founded by PGA Professionals, Brendon Elliott (Little Linksters) and Vincent Burbank (ICE Golf Academy). Elliott is the winner of 25+ prestigious awards in the junior golf arena, including the 2017 PGA National Youth Player Development Award and more recently was named one of Orlando Family Magazines 2019 Men of the Year. Vincent was recently named the 2020 North Florida PGA Youth Player Development Award Winner.

The Junior Tour, LLC will conduct events in three unique series:

Family Series

The Family Series will be 9-hole scramble events consisting of teams made up of one adult and one child. The Junior Tour, LLC will hold six of these family friendly competitions. Events will be conducted at venues such as Par 3 Courses, Iconic 9 Hole Courses, a brand new Topgolf venue and will also include a night golf event.

These events are open to all ages and abilities. Rules will be such that the entire team is required to participate in order to play well. While competition is the focus, the intent is fun and family.

Competitions will be stroke play events with awards given to the top teams. Teams will also earn points in each event based on their finish. Those points will accumulate until the final event where the leading point team be awarded as the Family Series winner. Traditions Series

The Traditions Series is the continuation of the traditional competitions that Little Linksters has held for nearly a decade throughout Florida with specific changes to encourage proper growth within Tournament play. Events will be 6- and 9-hole stroke play events for children ages 3-15. The events will be conducted in both advanced (Veteran) and beginner (Rookie) divisions.

Competition will be co-ed, but boys and girls will play from age-specific tees. Age groups will be split as follows, in the Rookie Division 3-6-year-old players will play six holes, and 7-9, 10-12 and 13-15 will be playing nine holes. The age ranges and distances for participants in the Veteran Division will remain the same as the Rookie. Qualification for play in the Advanced division will be based on pre-selected criteria. Prep Series

The Prep Series is the highest level of competition that The Junior Tour will offer. Events will be 36-hole competitions, held over the course of two days and are intended for more advanced players ages 10-18. Divisions will include both a boys and girls ages 10-12, 13-15 and 16-18. These events will be Junior Golf Scoreboard and Global Junior Golf ranked. Potential AJGA points to be offered in the 2021 season.
