Players trained by DC- JGA have amassed over 125 tournament wins, both locally and nationally. And they’ve learned in an atmosphere that is comfortable for all ages and skill levels. We offer three different year- round junior programs: The Junior Elite Pro- gram (JEP), Junior Elite Preparation Program (PREP) and the Future Elite Program (FEP). Each caters to a different skill and age of golf- er. The Academy also works with players on the PGA, web.com and Canadian PGA Tour. TEAM ATMOSPHERE With golf being an individual sport, it can be dif- ficult to create a true team atmosphere. All pro- grams at the DCJGA are organized into groups so that members can compete against one an- other, but also understand what it means to be a teammate. To compete against the person next to you, but also root for them to succeed in their own journey creates a wonderful mix of competi- tion and sportsmanship. WHERE LEARNING IS FUN The comprehensive year-round programs allow students to graduate or advance from one pro- gram to the next. With advancement comes more intensity, always balanced with a fair amount of fun. For instance, students in the FEP program divide their time between 25% technical training and 75% gaming and skill competitions. In the PREP, the ratio is 50-50 and in the JEP, 75% of the time is technical training and 25% is allotted for gaming and contests. KIDS ARE SMART! From the youngest students in the FEP to the high school seniors in the JEP, each learns spe- cific insights as to what makes their golf swing work. Often we run across 6- and 7-year-old kids who at first are uneducated about the cause and effects of their golf swing. But kids are smart; they understand the basics of their swings when taught to them. So we trust them and let them explore their abilities by applying the sound fundamen- tals we have shared with them. GROWING BODIES MEANS DIVERSIFIED FITNESSTRAINING The DCJGA employs one of the industry’s most highly skilled fitness professionals, specializing in training young athletes. With the wide range of ages, we need someone who can design workouts and properly educate our athletes on the right way to train, appropriate to their own age, growth and development. All of the workouts are geared around becoming a better athlete, which trans- lates directly to on-course performance. MANYSHADES OF SUCCESS One of our proudest accomplishments during the seven years that the junior program has operated is providing a place for each student to have his or her own success. We do not just measure this in terms of tournament wins, but also in terms of young athletes becoming leaders among their peers, or even competing in their first tourna- ment. The Academy is a close family and every- one cares for one another. To sit back and watch young people smile and experience success is the most rewarding thing of all for the DCJGA coaching staff. ONE-STOP SHOP It is our intent to be a one-stop shop, so to speak, for the parents as well. We help with tournament schedules, club and equipment recommenda- tions, even clothing discounts. If a parent or ath- lete needs anything, we are there to help guide them. That’s Dan Campbell Junior Golf Acad- emy – training, bonding, working together for a common goal.
